Easy technique for pumping water from well<\/p>\n <\/li>\n
Forty-three year old, K Paul Mathew, has studied only up to the seventh standard and comes from a traditional agricultural family. Mathew had been thinking for some time about technique that would avoid the usage of foot valve in domestic water pumping motors. Usually in domestic wells, a foot valve needs to be fitted to the inlet valve of the motor to retain the water and to avoid air lock. After several experiments, he finally succeeded in developing a device that does not use a foot valve. Mathew kept the motor a little higher than the normal position and bent the delivery hose (outlet tube) in a U shape. He filled water in it and allowed the inlet tube (suction hose) to be dipped in water. The underlying principle is that since the water is retained in the u-shaped bend of the outlet valve and the tip of the inlet tube is immersed in the water, the tube maintains the vacuum. Therefore, this U-shaped bend in the outlet tube serves the purpose of the foot valve.<\/p>\n <\/li>\n
